Terms of use

Use this freely. Cite when you teach.

Asmaverse is free for personal study, teaching, and sharing. Content draws from the Quran and authentic hadith, with sources cited on every entry. The brief terms below cover the practical edges.

Last updated: 2026-04-29

1. Acceptance

By using Asmaverse you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the site. There is no account to delete and no data to retrieve, so closing the tab is sufficient.

2. Permitted use

  • Read, study, and reflect on the content for personal benefit.
  • Share specific entries, verses, or chapters with others — including in teaching contexts (a class, a halaqa, a Friday khutbah). Please cite Asmaverse and the underlying source (Quran chapter:verse, or hadith collection + number).
  • Use the Friday Khutbah library content as the basis for your own Jumu'ah preparation, with the named reviewer attribution intact (or with your own scholar review on top).
  • Bookmark, install as a PWA, or use offline. Pilgrims are especially encouraged to bookmark /hajj and /umrah before travel.

3. Not permitted

  • Do not republish the entire site or any module wholesale as your own. The codebase is open for inspection on GitHub; if you want to fork and run it under another name, please keep the editorial-bar attribution.
  • Do not reproduce content with the citations stripped. The sources are the spine; without them the content loses its authority.
  • Do not use Asmaverse's name or branding to imply endorsement of unrelated products, services, or positions.
  • Do not present any fiqh ruling on this site as a personal fatwa. Module content is educational; specific fiqh questions should go to a qualified imam in your school.

4. Accuracy and editorial standards

Every Islamic claim on this site is sourced. Quranic claims cite chapter:verse; hadith claims cite collection + number + grading. Where a citation could not be verified with high confidence, the entry carries an explicit unverified flag rather than a fabricated reference.

That said, this is software built by humans and may contain errors. If you spot one, please tell us — we will fix it openly. The full list of editorial rules lives on the About page.

5. Third-party data

Some pages query external services from your browser: OpenStreetMap (mosques, halal food, city lookup), AlAdhan (prayer times, Hijri date), Al Quran Cloud (verse text and metadata), mp3quran.net (recitation audio). Each of these services has its own terms and uptime. Asmaverse does not warrant their availability or accuracy. If a third-party service is down, the page will tell you.

6. No warranty

Asmaverse is provided “as is”. While we work hard on accuracy and availability, we don't warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. Use it as one source among many, not as your sole authority.

7. Changes

We may update these terms occasionally — the “Last updated” date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted on the homepage and in the next newsletter. Continued use after a revision constitutes acceptance.

8. Contact

Questions, corrections, scholar review offers, partnership enquiries — please use the contact page. We reply.

These terms are intentionally short and plain-English. They are not a substitute for legal advice; for institutional partnerships please reach out via the contact page and we will work on a more formal agreement together.
