About this project

An interactive home for Islamic learning.

Asmaverse is a focused collection of small, hands-on modules — flip cards, sequenced rituals, branching stories, sourced guides — built around the Quran and authentic hadith. Every module is its own little world; together they're a quiet companion to the believer's daily life.

What we hold ourselves to

Sources cited

Every Islamic claim is sourced. Quranic claims cite chapter:verse; hadith claims cite collection, book, hadith number, and grading. Where a reference cannot be verified with high confidence, the entry carries a visible flag rather than fabricated text.

No figural depiction

No visual depictions of any prophet, the four Rashidun caliphs, the Ahl al-Bayt, angels, or Iblis — out of respect for the sensibilities of all Islamic traditions. The site uses Arabic calligraphy and geometric pattern only.

Tradition-neutral framing

Content is drawn from the Quran and authentic hadith on points generally shared across Islamic schools. We do not take positions on internal denominational disputes.

Child-safe by construction

No accounts. No analytics. No data is collected from any user, regardless of age. Module state lives in the browser session only. COPPA / GDPR-K compliant by design.

On the 99 Names enumeration

The hadith that Allah has 99 names is Sahih (Sahih Bukhari 7392, Sahih Muslim 2677). The specific enumeration of those 99 used here is the conventional Tirmidhi list (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3507), which scholars including Al-Albani have graded da'if.

Each name's authority on this site comes from its occurrence in the Quran, cited on the back of every card. Where a Quranic anchor could not be confirmed with high confidence, the entry is marked unverified for scholar review rather than carry an invented reference.

Privacy

Nothing leaves your device.

We collect nothing about you. There are no accounts and no analytics. Module state — favourites, memorisation progress, your current visit-streak, your tasbih count — lives in your browser'slocalStorage and never leaves.

Geolocation features (Prayer Times, Qibla, Closest Mosque, Halal Food Nearby) ask the browser for your coordinates, use them in the page you're on, and forget them. They never travel to our server — because we don't run a server that listens for them.

The newsletter is the one exception, and it's opt-in: only the email you choose to share, only stored with the newsletter provider, unsubscribe with one click.

Scholar review

Especially for the unverified Quran refs in the 99 Names list, the Friday Khutbah library, and lifecycle guides (Nikah, Janazah). Named reviewers + ijazah lineage are published with the work.

What needs review

Translation pass

Arabic, Indonesian, and Urdu locales have draft stubs. Native-speaker review of the UI strings would unlock real multi-locale launch.

Spread the word

Tell a friend, share a module, link from your masjid's site. Word-of-mouth is the only marketing this project will ever do.

Frequently asked

Common questions

Is Asmaverse free to use?

Yes. Free forever. No ads, no premium tier, no paywalls. Self-funded by the team. If you'd like to support, see the Support & Donations page — but the most valuable thing you can give is feedback and shares.

What tradition does Asmaverse follow?

Tradition-neutral. We focus on what is shared across Sunni schools (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, Hanbali) and what aligns with Shia tradition where the historical record overlaps. We do not take positions on internal denominational disputes. For specifics in your tradition, ask your local imam.

Why no images of the Prophets, Companions, or angels?

Out of respect for the sensibilities of all Islamic traditions, the site uses Arabic calligraphy, geometric pattern, and environmental photography only — never figural depiction. Our editorial rules document this in detail.

Can I use the content in my Friday khutbah / class / book?

Yes — please cite Asmaverse and the underlying source (Quran chapter:verse, hadith collection + number). The Friday Khutbah library is specifically built for imams worldwide to use as a starting point. See Terms of Use for the small print.

Is the content scholar-reviewed?

Sources are cited everywhere. For the unverified entries (currently 9 of the 99 Names that have only hadith-anchored references), we explicitly mark them. Friday khutbahs require a named scholar reviewer with verifiable ijazah before publication. Other modules are in active editorial review — corrections welcome via the contact page.

Is my data really not being collected?

Really. There are no analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting. Geolocation features run client-side. Your favourites and progress live in your browser's localStorage. The newsletter is the one opt-in exception. Full breakdown on the Privacy page.

Will Asmaverse have a mobile app?

The site is already a Progressive Web App (PWA) — you can install it on iOS and Android directly from your browser, and it works offline at the holy sites for Hajj and Umrah. A native wrapper for the App Store and Play Store is on the roadmap.

How can I help?

Three ways listed above (scholar review, translation, spread the word). The contact page covers each in detail with what to include in your email.

We are learners building for learners.

Asmaverse is in active development. Every entry — especially those marked unverified — should pass scholarly review before treated as final. Corrections, additions, and challenges are welcome.

If anything on this site is wrong, please tell us. We'll fix it openly.
